The Crucible’s Future Secured: A Historic Agreement for Snooker

Snooker fans around the world can celebrate — the sport’s most prestigious event, the World Snooker Championship, will continue to be staged at the legendary Crucible Theatre in Sheffield for at least another two decades.

A new long‑term agreement between the World Snooker Tour (WST) and Sheffield City Council guarantees that the Championship will remain in Sheffield until 2045, with an option to extend to 2050. It’s a landmark decision that preserves the Crucible’s unique atmosphere and cements Sheffield’s status as the global home of snooker.

The 2026 European Snooker Championships delivered an exciting fortnight of top-level cue action on Spain’s beautiful east coast. Held in Gandia from 6–17 March 2026 and organized by the European Billiards and Snooker Association (EBSA), the event brought together Europe’s finest players for the Men’s, Under 21s, Under 18s, and Under 16s Championships.

The 2025 World SnookerTour Shoot Out will run from Wed 10 Dec - Sat 13 Dec and will be held at the Blackpool Tower Circus for this unique tournament.

Ever present on the calendar since 2011, the Shoot Out has a unique set of rules, with all matches lasting a maximum of ten minutes. There is a shot clock of 15 seconds for the first five minutes and ten seconds for the last five, so players must keep their nerve and think fast.
